Seminar Project on Knowledge and Perspectives Exchange on Environmental Tax Restructuring (The Green Tax Shift) and the Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) Measure

Dr. Boonchu Stitmannaithum, Advisor to the Environmental Management Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries, participated as a guest speaker on the topic “Recycling Tax: The Reality of Today” while exchanging perspectives with distinguished experts from the academic, industrial, and recycling business sectors.

The event also featured other insightful topics, including “Global Mechanisms: A Pathway to Thailand’s Tax Survival” and “Co-Designing Thailand’s Tax System for a Circular Economy,” delivered by distinguished speakers Dr. Phao Boonyiam, Secretary-General of the Association of Hot Rolled Structural Steel Producers, and Mr. Chaiyut Phonsen, President of the Association of Saleng and Second-Hand Goods Shops.

The event was organized as a seminar project to exchange knowledge and perspectives on environmental tax restructuring (The Green Tax Shift) and the Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) measure. The seminar aimed to explore approaches for applying these concepts to Thailand’s tax system, support the transition toward a Circular Economy, and collaboratively develop policy recommendations for sustainable development. The event attracted considerable interest from business operators, who actively participated in the exchange of views and perspectives.

The seminar was organized by the Committee on Finance, Fiscal Affairs, Financial Institutions and Financial Markets, House of Representatives.
